The ages and circumstances of those who have and continue to participate in Singles vary widely. Always single, divorced and widowed adults find fellowship in the group.
A logo was developed in 1988. It depicts a man and a woman standing side by side. A cross centered on each figure symbolizes singles walking with Christ.
Networking with the Singles Ministry at the Kansas District level has helped enrich the leadership roles and provide additional spiritual growth opportunities. Attendance is encouraged at annual spring and fall retreats which are hosted by the Kansas District Lutheran Singles. Singles members from Holy Cross have participated as members of the steering committee which organizes the retreats.
Regular Singles Events include Sunday brunch on the first Sunday of each month, home Bible study on the first and third Monday of each month, and a social event each month. Service days are also planned several times each year. Some past service activities have been raking and trimming yards, washing windows, polishing the church pews, and visiting the Senior Care Center. Monies donated for the workdays are given to charities. An open invitation is extended to any adult single who is interested in Christian fellowship. Events are announced in Life at Holy Cross regularly. You may also click on the link below to read the current newsletter.
