Through Bible study, small group discussion and reflection it will guide us to deeper memories of God's presence in our lives as we discover God's working throughout our journey. Sunday School for children begins with a Parent's & 2's class, and includes classes for each age group through the 5th grade. Our Junior Youth Bible class, 6th - 8th grades, meets on Sunday mornings from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. in the south end of the Fellowship Hall. Our goal is that each of our youth in this class will use this opportunity to grow in the love and trust in Jesus Christ through this time together. We will be continuing the Pictures of God series.
HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH

Youth in 9th-12th grade meet together in the Lighthouse to set aside part of our week to focus on Christ’s love and His impact in our lives. Join us as we continue to build on the faith He has given us. This Fall we will be taking a look at the Commandments of God and seeing how each of them reveal the character of God and how they relate to the lives of high school students.

THE FIVE HOLY HABITS OF A CHRISTIAN STEWARD

Habits often bring up “negative” feelings within us, but as Christians we form holy habits through the help of God. This Bible study is a six-lesson study on holy habits of worship, communion, Bible study, service, and giving.
What do the scriptures say about stewardship as a whole? Have you ever wanted to hear about stewardship as something more than just giving money? Come join Pastor Scott Snow and Greg Woods for a different and refreshing study of Christian stewardship that shows how holy habits are much greater than pledge drives and tithes.
Over the course of our study together, we’ll cover what the Bible says about each habit and discuss what it means for us as God’s children. Finally, this study examines stewardship as our “ongoing relationship with God as a result of God’s action for us in Christ.”

THE GOSPELS – THE FIRST FOUR BOOKS OF THE NEW TESTAMENT

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are almost always found together in modern and ancient collections of historical documents. These histories are the basis for our understanding of the life of Christ and His words. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are called Gospels—Good News. They are Greek documents written by men from a Hebrew culture who were observant Jews. The Gospels reveal and define the Messianic covenant of God and in the words of Christ represent the fulfillment of the Mosaic Covenant. When we look at the Gospels through the lens of English culture and language, they seem strange to us, because though somewhat synoptic, they are not the same. Just how many people were in the garden after Christ’s resurrection, and why are the accounts different? Was that famous sermon on a mount or a plain? Why are the accounts leading up to the crucifixion different, and why are the Gospel accounts similar but so different? These are easy questions that Greek language, literature, and culture can answer. Therefore, to answer these questions, we will look at the Gospels through a lens of the Greek language and culture as well as the Greco-Hebrew culture, history, literature, and geography of the first century. We will learn the basis for our historical understanding of the Gospels as well as how other works in antiquity support the historical accuracy of them.

ADULT INFORMATION CLASS Led by Ted Helmer
This class is designed as an instruction for those who would like to learn about the basic teachings of the Lutheran Church and as a preparation for communicant church membership. It is also a good refresher course for those who are already communicant members. All are welcome. We’ll use the workbook “God For Us” and Luther’s Small Catechism as well as the Bible.
SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDIES
LIFELIGHT CLASSES
We are beginning our eleventh year of study in LifeLight with the study of The Life of David starting on September 8th and 9th.Please pick up your student study guide in the Parlor cabinet and prepare your first lesson so that we can begin with lesson one on the first week of class. LifeLight is an in-depth study that requires a small amount of homework. We have three classes that meet weekly:
Wednesday, 8:30-10:00 a.m. (babysitting provided)
Thursday, 8:30-10:00 a.m.
Thursday 4:30-6:00 p.m.
Please join us and enjoy the benefits of fellowship that come from studying the Bible with other Christians. New students, those needing a babysitter on Wednesday, and anyone with questions, please contact Judy through the church office at 684-5201.
1. This ladies Bible study is mostly women between their 50's & 70's meeting in the Parlor on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. The contact person for this group is Brenda Lesher.

1. This small group Bible study for men meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at Jimmy's Diner at 7:30 a.m. The contact person for this group is Warren Meyer.
1. This Bible study for singles of all ages meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month at 7:30 p.m. at various locations. The contact person for this group is Mary Dohl.
1. This small group Bible study meets twice a month on select Sundays at 6 p.m. The contact persons are Kent and Carmen Stephens.
1. This small group meets the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 5 p.m. Various books of the Bible are studied as selected by the group. The contact person for this group is Dot Meyer.
